They are tiny bugs that attack different types of  plants and they can be a major  problem indoors. Though  they are arachnids, they only  feed on plant cells.

Finding their webbing on a plant is a dead giveaway. Take a closer look at the webs and you’ll see these tiny creatures crawling around on them.

1. INSECTICIDAL SOAP

You can buy an organic insecticidal soap, or mix up a batch of my homemade spider mite spray, included in this guide.

2. NEEM OIL

Neem oil is a natural pesticide, and it’s very effective to control spider mite infestations long  term. My neem oil recipe is included in this guide.

3. MISTING & HUMIDITY

Since spider mites thrive in dry conditions, keeping the air around your indoor plants humid is one of the best prevention methods. There are a few easy ways to  do this.

– Mist the leaves regularly – A container of water next to the plant – A pebble tray filled with water

4. PRUNING

You can trim off infested leaves and throw them into the garbage to get rid of even  more of the spider mites  and eggs.
